The EEV (Swiss Electrical Purchasing Association eev Cooperative) is a central platform for electrical specialist partners in Switzerland. Members benefit from exclusive services, a comprehensive product catalog, and a modern web portal. To meet technological requirements, the existing ERP system from DIAS was migrated to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC). Simultaneously, the portal was redesigned with a customized OX web solution and integrated with all other systems.
Challenge: Integrating a new ERP system
EEV used a combination of website, portal, and webshop to provide its members with a comprehensive digital platform. The decision to migrate the ERP system from DIAS to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) necessitated a fundamental overhaul of the existing portal. The goal was to create a modern, high-performance solution that would enable seamless communication between Business Central and all external systems.
A particular challenge lay in networking the various peripheral systems, such as the invoice archive, the external shop solution, and the newsletter software. Solution: New portal with smart API networking
The portal's reprogramming integrated all core functions with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and peripheral systems. This enables seamless synchronization and optimized business processes for the connected electrical contractors.
Central profile and user management
User and profile data are managed centrally in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Permissions can be customized and synchronized.
Extended invoice archive
Invoices are retrieved directly from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, while older invoices are linked to an external archiving system via an API to ensure a complete overview.
Integrated product catalog
Daily synchronization with the external Saldia shop solution ensures that product information is always up-to-date. An API handles the data updates.
Newsletter integration
Registration is done via an online form, while new customers are automatically recorded in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This optimizes the communication process and increases efficiency.
Website integration
API functions enable login validation, password reset, member lists with permission logic, and a search function by postal code and distance. Navigation is generated dynamically.
